I’m a helicopter captain. I sometimes fly the helicopter to transfer business customers to my base in East Japan. Scheduled flights may be used to travel to remote areas, and on arrival, we check the mirror in the overhead bin to make sure we haven’t forgotten anything.
When an aircraft has mirrors, we don’t have to crane our necks or use our hands to search the bottom of overhead bins, as we do when an aircraft doesn’t have mirrors. Everyone wants to get off the aircraft quickly, so mirrors help customers disembark smoothly. If all aircraft were equipped with mirrors, they would be more visible and easier for people to use.
